This weeks Prediction of the Week goes to Psycho and Vinny for their prediction of Middlesborough 1 - Arsenal 1. Psycho and Vinny scored 5 points, Martin scored 2 points and Lucas, Steven and Bob scored 0 points.
Any hopes Arsene Wenger had of mounting a title charge this season are now buried deeper than homosexual urges in rugby after this draw. In fact, if they are not careful they could line up against FC Klunkerstan or some other random European side in the Uefa Cup next season. With Villa going from strength to strength, Everton squeaking wins and Man City having more money than Mr. Burns and Scrooge McDuck combined, Arsenal have a fight on their hands to just be considered relevant anymore. If they are to finish 4th they need to start motivating themselves against the smaller sides. It's all well and good beating Man Utd and Chelsea, but if you can't beat Hull, Stoke and Fulham you may as well give up. Middlesborough may not have won in 5 games, but earning a point against Arsenal will do them the world of good, and they could be on course to achieve their aim of a top half finish. The only problem Middlesborough have is no one cares.
This weeks P.O.W is the first ever joint win, and it is further proof that Vinny and Psycho's Predicta League destinys are closely woven together. Cast you mind back to last season. A handsome young buck named Lucas was romping his way to the title while Vinny was languishing in last place, never looking like posing a threat. Fast forward to this season and Psycho is doing his best Vinny 07/08 impression by being more stuck to the bottom than a gay gentlemen whose likes super glue, and looks a certainty to win the wooden spoon that Vinny claimed as his own. They are also the only two people to share a joint win this season in week 1. If Psycho is ever to turn around his Predicta League fortunes, he will need to cast his love affair with Vinny aside and start winning on his own. Can he do it? That, I'm afraid, is up to him.
Kudos to you Vinny and Psycho, Kudos.
