This weeks P.O.W goes to Vinny for his prediction of Bolton 2 - Portsmouth 1. Vinny scored a maximum 5 points; Lucas, Bob and Steven scored 2 points whilst Psycho and Martin scored 0 points.
Bolton continue to make me look stupid for suggesting they would struggle this season and almost certainly face relegation, with this win against Pompey. They currently sit on 23 points at the half way point of the season and I don't need my new calculator to tell me that makes them more than half way to the magic 40 point barrier, that usually means safety. However, unfortunately for Bolton, with so many clubs potentially being involved in the relegation battle this season, 40 points may not be enough and a few bad results could easily see them dropping back towards the wrong end of the table. As for Pompey, even with this loss they look like a mid-table side and they should be fine come May. In Crouch and Defoe they have goals - and a team with goals should be OK.
Last season Vinny couldn't buy a win. This season he won't bloody go away! Even when he doesn't win he still places in the top 3. In fact, in the 18 weeks of season 2 Vinny has only finished out of the top 3 5 times. It seems that the bad week the others need Vinny to have if there is a chance of catching may not be coming after all.
Kudos to you Vinny, Kudos.
