This week's Prediction of the Week goes to Psycho for his prediction of Chelsea 2 - Stoke 1. Psycho scored 5 points, Lucas 3 points and Martin, Vinny, Bob and Steven scored 1 point.
Stoke, like all newly promoted teams, never seem to get any luck. But if they play like this every week they won't need luck - they will stay up on their merit . Chelsea were many pundits and bookies favourites for the title at the begining of the season and it was easy to see why - a World Cup winning manager in Luiz Scolari in charge of a side that had been to the top before and seemed ready for another title charge. A squad this good doesn't need managing, just direction, said so called football experts. Bollocks. Chelsea are a club in disarray. Don't let this fluky win against Stoke fool you. Formerly the best defence in Europe can no longer defend corners and a squad with more dead weight than the Hindenberg. Major changes are needed, if not now then certainly in the summer. Steve Clark (the man responsible for that water tight defence) has left for West Ham and it seems Ray Wilkins has been brought in for no more than to attend press conferences when Scolari can't be bothered. Abromovich has spent more money than anyone had any right to ask him to, so it's about time Scolari took advantage of one of the most expensive scouting networks in the world and find some bargains and Frank Arnesen produced some of these world class youngsters he keeps snapping up. While a top 4 place is all but guaranteed this season, the same can't be said of the next. Every one around Chelsea is getting better whereas Chelsea have stood still for 3 years. In the 2004/2005 season Chelsea raised the bar of what was expected of champions, now the bar has left them behind.
Psycho continues his bigger than Jesus come back with another win. He's coming from behind and breathing down the rest of the Leagues neck's in such a violent way that it reminds me of that night I spent in a Mexican prison. Can Psycho make a late charge and drag himself out of the happy little rut he made for himself in last place? Find out next week, in The Predicta League!
Kudos to you Psycho, Kudos
