This weeks P.O.W goes to Bob for his prediction of Middlesbrough 0 - Blackburn 0. Bob scored all 5 points; Lucas, Martin and Steven all scored 2 points, while Vinny and Psycho scored 0 points.
The two sides of 0-0 draws were on full show this weekend. In one game you had Aston Villa and Wigan play arguably the game of the weekend, being a real advert for the premiership - with multiple chances for both sides - and yet it somehow finished 0-0. In another game you had Middlesbrough v Blackburn which was about as exciting as an evening with Edith Bowman, and sadly that is the game we are going to be discussing. Middlesbrough are in some trouble - without a win in 13 and not having scored in 3 games. They have a good, young manager in Gareth Southgate, but with no news of any transfers and their big players out of form or injured, its going to be a long six months for Boro fans who are looking at the very real possibility of playing in the Championship next season. As for Blackburn, they are only one point above Middlesbrough and in the relegation zone. But at least they have the luxury of being a better side than at least 4 others involved in the relegation battle. Also, Sam Alladyce is a experienced manger who knows how to get the best out of his players and that should be enough to see them out of danger.
Despite winning the most prestigious award a man can win this week, Bob can count himself a little unlucky not to have won the double and won the week as well. With a revived Steven snapping at his heels Bob needs to find the form that made him finish second last season, because if he doesn't he will be finishing second again.... second from bottom that is! Good night everybody.
Kudos to you Bob, Kudos.
