This weeks P.O.W goes to Martin for his prediction of Stoke 1 - Newcastle 1. Martin picked up all 5 points; Lucas, Bob, Steven and Psycho all scored 2 points and Vinny scored 1 point.
As the Premiership begins its final descent into the off season airport, players in the Top 10 will be starting to think of which hotel in Ayia Napa they're going to stay in and which girl they're going to end up "fisting" whilst there. Meanwhile, players in the bottom 10 will be in physical and psychological hell, desperately trying to scrape together points so they can avoid going to Doncaster next year in the Championship. This was a game that both sides couldn't afford to lose. Newcastle could be in store for one of the best - or worst - seasons in their history. If they go down a Leeds style collapse is a very real possibility and Mike Ashley will never be able to sell the club. On the other hand, if they stay up and Sunderland and Middlesbrough (their two biggest rivals) go down, new manager Alan Shearer will give the fat, shirtless fans of Newcastle the equivalent of an FA Cup win. Stoke seem to be safe and are currently 13th and 6 points clear of the relegation zone, but there is still plenty of football to be played and they will have to keep up their impressive home form and maybe snatch a draw or two away just to make sure.
Martin picks up the P.O.W this week and is once again showing why his fellow Predictors call him Mr. Consistency. In the Top 3 every week, Martin has taken a bad start and turned it into a season that sees him still gunning for his first ever title. For those of you who say "Surely he can't catch Vinny now!", just cast you mind back to the last 5 weeks of last season...
Kudos to you Martin, Kudos.
