A very special treat for you all today as This P.O.W. was written by our very own Martin Capewell.
The P.O.W this week goes to Psycho for his prediction of Blackburn 2-0 Portsmouth. Psycho scored the maximum 5 points, with Martin, Bob, Lucas and Steven scoring 3 points and Vinny scoring 0 points.
Blackburn and Portsmouth are both in similar positions, they’ve both had poor seasons and if it weren’t for the 5 worse teams below them they could have found themselves in a French kissed by a Mexican situation, (deep trouble). Blackburn started the season triumphantly with a 3-2 victory at Everton and were tipped for big things with the ‘first British Black Premiership manager’ Paul Ince, taking control at Ewood Park. However when the results stopped coming for Ince the Blackburn board dumped him quicker than you can say, ‘burning cross in Mississippi'.
Portsmouth on the other hand had every right to claim a good season was in front of them, they were the reigning F.A. Cup holders, and had boosted their squad well during the summer. The fans were predicting a good season and while they weren’t claiming as much as some high-profile Labour MP’s are, they certainly have a right to feel aggrieved by their lack of success this season.
This week’s winner Psycho has really turned it on with the run-in to the season upon us. With 3 wins in 5 weeks he has risen from his last place which was once considered his and is now a full 8 points clear of bottom and receiving the ‘Vinny Capewell Wooden Spoon’. So that’s handsome, athletic (look at that picture ladies), witty, not bottom anymore and from what I’ve heard, hugely endowed! He’s a real catch; unfortunately rumour has it that he’s gay. Sorry ladies, another one bites the dust!
Kudos to you Psycho, Kudos.
