This Weeks Winner Is Martin Capewell
POW has few regrets, one was sinking the titanic (ice berg my arse! that was all POW! Will teach them to give him a room on the port rather than starboard side!), another is opening that back alley abortion clinic (it seemed like a good idea at the time and a real money spinner but 25 years on and his bent coat hanger still smells like dried blood and despair), but POW's biggest regret is not finishing off Dick Van Dyke when he had the chance. There legendary rivalry doesn't need explaining as were all aware of the incident that set the wheels in motion. But in the year 1968 POW had Dick right where wanted him and didn't go in for the kill shot. Some say it was a moment of compassion that made POW put down the lead pipe, but POW can tell you that really it was feeling of not knowing what to do with himself when Van Dyke was finally out of the picture. This hesitation on POWs behalf has meant 40 more years of pain and suffering and POW has since come to the conclusion that next he won't stop hitting him till Dicks brains were splattered all over the carpet. Either Chelsea or Man United will soon be able to relate to this failed murder as come the end of the season one of these teams will be celebrating a title win, while the other will think that they have thrown it away. Both have had chances to really kick on while there opponents have stumbled yet both teams have been reigned in when they look clear. Even now we can tell whose going to win the title with the favourite changing after every weekend. Which is why this season will always be remember as the one that no one wanted to win.
Its not every season you can pin point the exact moment a title was won or lost. But with Martins prediction of Spurs 2 Arsenal 1, Capes went five point clear at the top with just 3 weeks left. The Peoples Champion is closer than he's ever been to his first title and he seems to have timed his late surge just right. Can Capes hang on? POW thinks..... he can!
